Victorian era two handed sword with well-made iron mounts and wire wrapped leather grip. Measures 70" overall with a 56" blade. Light coating of surface rust. Leather grips show tatters and losses. Large size pommel. In the mid to late 19th century Schmidt and other armourers re-created early arms to display in the castles and great halls of Europe and identical pieces as these are shown in many museums and displays.
