Classic pair of early percussion half-stock duelers marked "Baye Par LePage". Browned and case hardened finish with fine quality checkered and carved burl wood stocks, set triggers, spured guards, and octagon barrelswith gold bands and inlay at the breech and gold stars at each wrist. Measures 15 3/4" overall with 9 1/2" barrels of 11mm or nearly .45 caliber rifled. The pistols are in very good condition with at least 60%-80% original brown and case colors. The lacquer has bubbled slightly and should be stripped off to expose metal. The form is classic LePage and Baye was known to work with LePage as well as on his own in Paris. The deluxe caseshows original green felt lining in good to very good condition with minor impressions, fading, fraying and just normal aging. A correct flask, mold, screwdriver, rods and mallet included. The exterior of the case isgood with light professional refreshing. A very nice set. (Antique) Est.: $7,500-$15,000
