Oil painting on board signed by Dorthea Sharp lower left noted British impressionist born 1874 and died 1955. Pencil on the back titles “Tangier” and “Dorthea Sharp”. Measures 11 ½” x 15 ½”. Well recognized artist who studied at polytechnic and in Paris at the height of impressionism. Exhibited at Royal Academy and elected R.B.A. 1907 and R.O.I. 1922. She lived in London, Blewbury, and St. Ives in Cornwall. Minor cracking and aging. Needs cleaning. Black lights well. Provenance: Noted Southern California collection from Robert Morse who was a Laguna Beach resident 1970s-90s and member of art organizations. This is a well listed and recognized female artist from impressionist era. Est.: $2500-$5000
