Custom Mauser bolt action rifle, .404 Barnes Supreme caliber, Serial #26753. The rifle is in fine overall condition with a 24” barrel with a hooded ramp front and three blade folding rear sights The barrel just forward the front ring and receiver are beautifully relief engraved along with the trigger guard, magazine floor plate and screw heads. The bolt and magazine follower have been engine turned and the bolt handle checkered. The finely checkered English walnut stock is extremely well done with fleur de lis checkering, a beaded cheek piece, ebony fore end cap, engraved screw heads and a single cross bolt for recoil. The magazine floor plate is embossed with gold tone rhinos and the grip cap is engraved and case colored. The butt stock ends with a solid rubber Silvers style recoil pad providing a 14” LOP. The consignor notes that the rifle was custom ordered from Duncan’s Gun Works and has a replacement value in excess of $10,000.
