Japanese Type 38 bolt action training rifle, 6.5 x 50 caliber, Serial #NSNV. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 32” barrel with a protected blade front and peep style rear sights. The metal surfaces retain the majority of their military finish with a mum and Japanese characters on the front and a Kokura arsenal mark on the left side of the receiver. There is moderate pitting evident on the barrel at the front band and light surface rust on the magazine base plate. The smooth wood stock is in good overall condition with mars and compressions consistent with service use. The butt stock includes sling swivels and ends with a smooth steel butt plate. The bore is fair, the action crisp and markings are sharp on this desirable WWII Japanese trainer. Est.: $150-$300. (C+R).
