Antique belt with Pewter 0dangles from the shirt of Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce. According to the consignor, the piece came to him by way of artist, Don Percival and has been in the collection of noted collectorErnie Hovard. The piece of belt is approximately 13” in length and has been framed with an old catalog card describing the relation to Chief Joseph. The lot includes a letter describing the piece by Mr. Hovard. The belt shows surface rust and wear but has an authentic appearance. The glass frame has a lateral crack along the bottom and should be replaced. $200-$400.
