Lot of 2 fancy rifles belonging to movie and television star Leo Carrillo. Leo Carrillo was highly regarded in the Los Angeles and Southern California area where he was beloved as the Cisco Kid. He was often the Grand Marshal of the Rose Parade and Master of Ceremonies at the civic events from L.A. to San Diego in the 1950s-60s. The subject rifle Winchester Model 70, S/N 35011 and Savage Model 99, S/N 14111 were acquired in 1952 by Fred J. Hoover Pomona P.D. from Carrillo who allowed policemen first crack at the rifles from his collection. Signed letters documenting history from Fred W. Hoover Sr. to Jr. and then to our consignor are included.
Physical Description:
1. Winchester Model 70 in .30-06 caliber sporting rifle, S/N 35011. Redfield peep sight. Fully carved stock in game scene and scroll motif. Engraved eagle on the trigger guard. Classic American work of late 30s-50s era. A recoil pad has been added. Very good condition with 85%-90% blue and great bore
2. Savage Model 99 is in .303 caliber and S/N 14.111 with tang sight, inlaid stock, pearl, bone and ebony. King rear sight. Good overall with 40%-50% blue. Good action and good bore. The document notes this rifle was purchased at a San Francisco trading post and indeed inlay is of the type we have examined from Northern California up the Northwest coast.

All oversized, extremely heavy & extremely fragile items the buyer is responsible for contacting a third-party shipping company for shipment. We ship Federal Express; we cannot ship to PO Boxes. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
