Intriguing Philadelphia style percussion derringer marked “Deringer Pattern Patent” on the lock and “Deringer Pattern” on the breech. Measures 7 ½” overall with a 3 ¾” rifled barrel of approximately .44 caliberwith iron trigger guard and plain non-engraved German silver mounts. Light scroll engraved hammer and lock. The escutcheon around single lock screw resembles Slaughter. Slaughter was key witness atlegal trail and this may have been his pattern or model. No proofs and American made. Really interesting.
