Antique saluting or signaling cannon with turned steel barrel and cast iron mounts. A "stoutly constructed little lad" out of Juan Carlos Amadeo collection which we sold in 1980s. The Amadeo collection was housed in amilitary museum hospital in Buenos aires and was started by J.C. Amadeo in Mid-19th century. This cannon was picked from the collection by Hans Schemke the agent who brokered the deal. It is amusing to note that the seller fired the cannon to greet Mr. Schmke who dropped and crawled to cover thinking he had been shot by an unhappy customer or "Friend". Weighs 31lbs. Est.: $250-$500
