Older very good quality reproduction of fancy Confederate Civil War presentation sword attributed to English fakers with English etched blade and showing inscription “G.M. Moody, Morengo rifles, Alabama” and “C.S.A.”on the reverse. Single wire wrapped wood grip with heavy cast guard in correct style. Measures 39 ½” overall with a 34” cavalry style blade. Some artificial aging. This type were the first pirated onto the U.S. marketin the 1960s and the 70s and many have do pass for authentic as the etching is well done and they have had time to “Season”.
