Fortress size cannon with iron barrel for 45 lb. ball marked “No 53” and “1811” on the muzzle and “3595KG”. Weighs approximately 8,000 lbs. Also marked “63” on the cascabel and “1811”. French made in Napoleonic era and according to Mr. Abshire who was an expert these cannons were placed at a rivers mouth by the union who installed the naval type American carriage on this gun and mate. The condition is very good normal weathering aging from exposure to outdoor weather. Mr. Abshire priced the pair at $90,000 in his lifetime. Sold as a single piece. SPECIAL CONDITION OF SALE: Sold on location of estate located at 19903 Serrano Rd in Apple Valley, CA. Inspection Thursday March 26 from Noon to 4PM.
