Reid “My Friend” knuckleduster pistol with a 2” barrel, .32 caliber, Serial #11848. The pistol is mentioned on page 169 of James Reid and his Knuckledusters by Taylor Bowen. Additionally, in Pageant of the Gun byPeterson, the pistol is referenced on page 157. The barrel is cut to 2” in length with post and blade sight, originally 3” in length. The barrel is marked, “MY FRIEND” as is the side of the frame. The engravedbrass frame still shows traces of gold gilt and the cylinder has been re-nickeled. The pistol is in good to very good overall condition and represents a rare variation with approximately 250 manufactured withbarrel. Est.: $1,000-$2,000. (Antique).
