Colt Single Action Army Revolver, .45 Colt caliber, 5 1/2" barrel, factory engraved, blue and cased hardened finish, raised carved ivory grips showing "War Eagle" on shield with medallions, S/N 347534. Shipped to Bob Smith Sporting Goods Co., Boston, Mass. on Jan. 8th, 1925 on order #9294/1 with 1 gun in shipment with factory letter. This stunning Colt remains in near mint condition with 98%-99.9% plus original blue and case hardening with just the slightest of natural aging and excellent grips showing a very light and fine patina. Ultra-sharp and crisp overall. Shows best quality Glahn engraving with trademark "V" on top of the back strap. Included is a Colt box showing correct end labels. The engraving is to the best of Glahn's ability showing higher grade with florals and "Shading" on the cylinder denoting extra fine and fancy factory order. The best factory blue and case hardened Pre-War single action offered on the auction market in the last 5 years in our opinion. Sold by Little John's at auction approximately 15 years ago to noted Colt Collector Association member Pat Boland for $90,000 total and now consigned by his estate. Est:$50,000-100,000 (C& R/PPT)
