Pair of ornate silver mounted flintlock pistols by U.S. Historical Society copied after 1748 English pistols owned by George Washington now residing in the West Point museum. The 1976 edition for bicentennial was limited to 975 sets and sold out at approximately 2500. S/N 805A & 805B. Excellent condition with original certificate of authenticity, gloves, instructions, and letter from U.S. Historical society statingthe value in 1999 was $4,250. Minor storage marks and scratches to exterior of the case. 97%-99%+ overall. By far the finest quality issue of arms in our opinion by U.S. Historical Society and we have no doubt thatat today’s prices nearing 50 years later the cost would exceed $5000 to replicate. Est.: $1300-$2600
