U.S. Model 1863 Springfield Civil War issued rifled musket dated 1864 on the lock. Fair to good overall condition showing good lock. Markings with metal surfaces showing dark blue type finish from being “Dipped” orboiled in oil. There is minor scattered pitting underneath the blue and some heavier pitting at the rear near the nipple and firing area. The stock is good with traces of two cartouches. Heavy pitting on the buttplate. Matching ramrod. Works well with tight action and all military small parts retained. Arms traced to Bannerman’s have bored or shot out as no visible rifling remaining. (Antique) Est.: $400-$800
