Colt Army Special DA revolver, #537185, .38 cal., 6" barrel, fixed sights, checkered wood medallion grips, with engraved sideplate which says " NATIONAL POLICE / PISTOL / CHAMPIONSHIP / SEA GIRT N. J. / 1926 " and on the right side " MILITARY CAPT . / ARTHUR W . WALLENDER ". The revolver is in near excellent condition overall, retaining 97% original finish, with some minor scratches and imperfections. The bore is about fine,the action is tight, and the grips are fine with crisp checkering, excellent fit and finish, and just minor losses on the left panel at the base. This revolver should be further researched and lettered, as it wasprobably an award, possibly from Colt. (C&R/PPT) Est. $700-1400
