Winchester Model 1894 Takedown lever action rifle, .38-55 WCF caliber, Serial #133571. The rifle is in very good overall condition with a 26” octagon barrel with a folding Beeches front and a Lyman two-leaf foldingrear sights, take down frame and a full-length magazine. The barrel has drifted to plum patina with sharp edges, while the magazine retains a significant amount of muted blue finish. The receiver is a mixture of flaking original blue and brown patina with light surface erosion noted. The hammer, trigger and lever show significant muted case hardening and a period tang sight has been added during the period of use. The smooth wood stocks are in very good condition with light compressions and mars. The fore end wood has great figure and the butt ends with a smooth steel crescent butt plate. The bore is bright, the action iscrisp and the markings are sharp on this Model 1894 manufactured in 1898. Est.: $1,400-$2,800. (Antique).
