Winchester Model 1886 Takedown lever action rifle, .45-90 WCF caliber, Serial #128186. The rifle is in very good overall condition with a 26” half octagon to round barrel and ½ magazine. The barrel retains a significantamount of toning blue finish while the receiver has gone to grey/brown patina. There is considerable blue on the bolt, with dull case hardening on the trigger, hammer and lever. A period tang sight has been added during the period of use. The wood stock is non-factory checkered with mars and compressions consistent with carry and use. A trap in the rifle’s butt contains an additional aperture for the peep sight. Thebore is good, the action is crisp and the markings are sharp. Est.: $1,400-$2,800. (C+R).
