Winchester Model 1886 Takedown lever action rifle, .40-65 WCF caliber, Serial #88877. The rifle is in very good overall condition with a 26” octagon barrel, full length magazine and take down frame. The barrelretains a significant amount of toning blue finish with sharp edges, while the magazine is a mixture of dull blue and brown patina. The receiver is a mixture of muted blue and brown patina with light surface erosion andedge wear. There is considerable blue on the bolt, with dull case hardening on the trigger, hammer and lever. The select wood stock is in very good condition with outstanding figure and graining. The buttstock ends with a smooth steel crescent butt plate. The bore is good, the action is crisp and the markings are sharp. Est.: $2,000-$4,000. (C+R).
