Imperial German Naval Sword Pattern 1876 Saber circa early 1900s to WWI with “WK & C” Maker’s mark. Gilt bronze basket hilt has full lion head with long mane. Very little gilding remains. 12 rib ivory grip shows some age cracking and contains a single wisted wire wrapping. Ferrule band has leaf design. Rounded rectangle style bow with raised line décor, contains an oval with crown over fouled anchor. Folding guard is engraved with “Schneider” and contains a hole for locking scabbard. Full pipe back measuring 5/8” wide slightly curved 29 ¾” blade that is triple acid etched with panoply of arms and crown over fouled anchor. The blade has becomeblackened and some of the acid etching is worn. The stitched leather scabbard shows wear and has three plain brass mounts with two suspension rings. Measures 36” overall.
