French hunting sword with slightly curved 1¾" wide blade with single wide fuller and false back edge. Two-piece ebony plaques are secured with large oval steel rivets. Ferrule and short steel cross guard hashand-etched scrolled quillons. Blade shows some pitting. Circa 1800. Original leather scabbard has replaced plain metal throat with suspension ring, and chape.
