English pioneer sawback sword with Flat blade 1-3/8" wide w/ saw tooth spine and false back edge. Two-piece cast bronze hilt with B-guard. Downward turned quillon, 11-rib grip has four rivets. Stamped w/ Crown over"BR // 21" on obverse ricasso; Crown over "R // 17"; and “W // REG M”[?]. Crown over "B 471" on spine, w/ “B.M.” and a sideway “2”. Brass cross guard is stamped “4 ·1880 // M // GM// 1”. Blunted blade tip with minimalpitting. Leather scabbard has the locket marked at throat "1.1895 // M.7.R.B. 4". Blade is 22¼” and the sword is 27½ overall. Est.: $400-$800
