Serial number 7 Smith & Wesson .41 caliber Volcanic pistol with a 8” barrel remaining in good to very good original condition. This Volcanic shows fully legible address along with cast steel and patent are all fairlysharp. The metal is a light gray patina with staining and some minor pitting on the left side of the barrel. The engraving is well defined and the grips are also good to very good with very slight losses at the toes andheel. The action works well and overall a very nice example of a rare American firearm that was pivotal in the development of repeating cartridge arms. Only approximately 1700 total produced circa 1854.
