Springfield 1863 Civil War Musket in .58 caliber with 3 bands dated 1863. In “Out of the attic” uncleaned condition from Pasadena estate. Ramrod is a broken old period wood replacement. “Hubert” period carved beneaththe left side beneath rear lock screw. The lock is working with the nipple beaten from much firing and hammer hits. Bored or shot out to .60 caliber almost smooth. The markings are fair to good and visible. Thestock is fair to good with wear around the butt and many small dings, mars, and scratches. Missing trigger guard swivel otherwise complete. Most likely Civil War used and headed west to California wherelarge numbers of veterans retired in the Pasadena area. (Antique) Est.: $600-$1200
