Smith & Wesson 1st Model 3rd issue .22 caliber Single Action revolver finely New York engraved in Nimschke style with magnificent raised carved pearl grips and original French style casing. The revolvershows traces of rich golt gilt over silver that has mostly drifted to a natural gray metal. Sharp address and markings. The left grip shows a helmeted Dragoon soldier and right shows florals with checkeredbackground. The quality of the grips are superb and carved by a master. Contained within its original to the period French style fitted case lined in blue velveteen with Moroccan leather covering. The interioris good with just normal fading and aging. The exterior is very good with minor scuffs and slight scratches. The action is mechanically sound. The grips in our opinion rival the best of the Mid-19th century carved pearl examples we have viewed over the last 50 years! (Antique) Est.: $2500-$5000
