Colt Single Action Army revolver, .44-40 caliber, 7 ½” barrel, factory engraved, nickel finish, authentic to the period pearl grips S/N 262020. The engraving is deluxe and probably by Master Colt engraver CunoHelfrict. Factory letter confirms features and factory engraving and lists stocks as pearl. Shipped to Simmons Hardware Co, C/O Shelton Payne Arms Co, Jan 19, 1905 with 1 gun in shipment (Probably a special order).Shelton Payne Arms co. was located in El Paso, Texas and received many arms for Pancho Villa and his lieutenants during the border war era.
