IXL Bowie knife by “George Wostenholdm and Son, Washington Works, Shefield” and shows his trademarks and address. Measures 16” overall with a 11 1/8” blade showing 6 ½” to clipped point. Semi-Coffin shaped hilt withgenuine to the period ivory scales showing mellow patina and age cracking. The blade is good with a little discoloration along with minor pitting and erosion. Original scabbard with 50% gold embossing still showing andvisible “IXL” at the center. The German silver hanger and tip is retained (Minor Dents). Formerly Joseph Musso collection. Est.: $3500-$7000
