1866 Winchester Carbine Deluxe Engraved by L.D. Nimschke with original nickel and gold plated, varnished deluxe wood stocks in near fine original condition, S/N 79593. This stunning and rare carbine shows 90%+ original nickel and magazine shows 60%-80% with some loss on the left center. Minor aging and very light beginning erosion where the finish has lifted. The frame shows deluxe Nimschke scrolls with a center panel of a nationalcrest and the condition is near fine with rich patina and 20%-30% original rich gold gilt remaining. The frame is crisp and sharp with impeccable fit to side plates and very little to almost no wear. The hammer, leverand butt plate shows 80%-90% original nickel. The stocks are near fine showing 1-2x type burl grain with 90%+ original high varnish and high peak to comb that deluxe ‘66’s are known to have. The stocks fit impeccably andshow minor storage and little to no use. Also 80%-90% bright blue on loading gate. The action is tight and the interior is bright and is excellent with bright bore.
