High Art engraved German Drilling with exposed hammers with 16GA over 7.7 x 58 marked rifle barrel and 20th century nitro proofs, S/N 3854. Good to very good overall with a 27" barrel showing most original bluetoning to brown. The frame is sharp and crisp with exceptional game scene and scroll engraving in a satin gray to light brown patina. Great hunting dog on the right lock with stags and rabbits on the frame and leftlock. The stocks are good to very good with minor bumps and scratches and light wear to the checkering. Mechanically sound with bright bores. We have always felt drilling were "Sleepers" as to a master handmade andengraved a gun like this today in Germany or Ferlach is estimated $20,000 to $40,000+ depending on gunsmith.
